Product Manager - Graphics

The Graphics Product Manager is responsible to drive profitable growth based on conceptualizing, developing, launching, and managing the Pantone product offering for the graphic arts, stemming from the original Pantone Matching System (PMS). The candidate will leverage a deep domain knowledge of the graphic design workflow to build a valuable, differentiated and defensible print and digital product portfolio that meets the evolving needs of graphic designers, brands, and suppliers to manage color. This position is for a multi-dimensional person who is passionate about technology, creativity and innovation, as well as grounded in business, strategy and product management in the dynamic world of color and appearance.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Direction
Define a defensible and differentiated positioning and overall framework that provides meaningful value for the graphic and printing customer base and technology partners, based on:

  • Mapping customer base and identifying most attractive customer segments and applications
  • Understanding the relevant competitive landscape for different segments and applications
  • Leveraging existing physical and digital color assets and solutions using those assets
  • Flagging ecosystem partners that can expand or reinforce its adoption

Product Roadmap
Create and drive prioritized development of the product roadmaps in both physical and digital manifestations by:

  • Securing an in-depth understanding of customer needs and usage cases based on the Problem 2 Portfolio (P2P) process, going to GEMBA and collecting VOC through focus groups, surveys, and customer interactions
  • Full comprehensive of current Pantone offerings and delivery mechanisms
  • Provide innovative, creative and insightful recommendations to optimize product offerings and eliminate any redundancies or obsolent products as necessary
  • Create complementary solutions with distinct value propositions between Fashion, Home + Interiors (FHI), Plastics and Digital product offerings
  • Understanding offering and functionality of relevant competitors and close substitutes
  • Understanding of market and technology trends

Product Development Process Leadership
Lead/coordinate the development of new features and products following stage-gate standard processes, including:

  • Steward projects though Accelerated Product Development standard processes following DBS Launch Excellence (LEx,) Product Planning Group (PPG), and Visual Action Plans (VAP)
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve objectives and timelines with visual action plans, daily management principles, and kaizen events
  • Validate customer workflows, needs, and barriers throughout development phases
  • Work closely with Marketing and Sales to build and execute product launch successfully based on LEx standard work and best practices

Revenue Generation
Build commercial elements to drive revenue generation on graphic product portfolio:

  • Define pricing structures, licensing and distribution mechanisms
  • Establish and communicate value propositions with monetization models
  • Work with Marketing in creating relevant content to articulate concepts, value propositions for typical use cases, define customer segments and target personas, and distribute for use on applicable channels and verticals
  • Monitor sales results vis-à-vis Targets and partner with Sales teams to counter measure to address shortfall
  • Work with Marketing in creating promotional campaigns relevant to different channels and verticals.

Other Activities
Contribute to annual strategic plan process

General Requirements/ Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in product management, product marketing, or product development for BTB durable products
  • Domain knowledge in graphic arts and printing industries, with deep understanding of color management within the graphic design workflow, on both print and digital settings
  • Comfortable and effective interacting with channel partners, customers and end-users, from small settings to large events, with global scale
  • A proven track record of driving profitable revenue and market share growth, demonstrated over a sustained period of time
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; sense of urgency; customer focused; adaptive to change; strategic and tactical; continuous improvement mentality; self-starter
  • Emotional maturity particularly within a constantly changing business environment, ability to collaborate with others
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related degree. Advanced degree and/or MBA is preferred.

Facility and Maintenance Technician

Provide facility maintenance support. Oversee repairs, trouble shooting and daily maintenance of buildings, infrastructure and facility equipment. Reporting to Director of Operations.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibilities are to keep the manufacturing facility and all production processes mechanically operating at maximum rated capacity and producing quality products in a cost-effective manner. This involves the installation, repair, maintenance and trouble shooting of all machinery, tools and mechanical systems
  • Interfaces with plant management, shift leads, and all floor personnel
  • Promotes safety and ensures safe work practices
  • Ability to trouble-shoot and rectify issues with machinery and facility systems
  • Maintain preventive maintenance programs
  • Conduct PM’s on all production equipment
  • Provides emergency response including equipment repair, situation stabilization and the mobilizing of resources as needed
  • Verifies and ensures the documentation of all repair records, preventive maintenance records and logs all replacement parts in eMaint
  • Works closely with plant management and the production staff to ensure that production schedules and needs can be met because production machinery is operational
  • Projects/assignment deemed necessary by Management.

General Requirements/Experience:

  • High School education or equivalent is required
  • 5 years experience working with, repairing and maintenaning manufacturing equipment
  • Preventive maintenance experience is a must
  • Must possess knowledge of OSHA requirements and Confined Space/Lock-Out Tag-Out requirements
  • Must be computer literate with office, technical, parts and maintenance software packages
  • Ability to read, speak, and write English is essential, fluent in Spanish and English is a plus
  • Self-starter, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., extended periods of standing, walking, etc.

Director, Brand Management and Marketing Communications

Pantone provides a universal language of color that enables color-critical decisions through every stage of the workflow for brands and manufacturers. More than 10 million designers and producers around the world rely on Pantone products and services to help define, communicate and control color from inspiration to realization – leveraging advanced X-Rite technology to achieve color consistency across various materials and finishes for graphics, fashion and product design. Pantone Standards feature digital and physical color specification and workflow tools.

The Director, Brand Management and Marketing Communications at Pantone is responsible for leading all global user-facing brand positioning and communications, media outreach, crisis management, brand partnerships, and social media. This position will also lead Transformative Marketing within Pantone’s marketing organization, including effective integrated marketing campaigns across PR, social media, creative development, partnership marketing, channel distribution, and tradeshows.

In this role, the Director, Brand Management and Marketing Communications will lead the communications strategy and execution of key brand programs, including Color of the Year, partnership support (B2B and B2C licensing), and New Product Development (NPD) support. This role will be the main liaison leading Pantone’s global agency relationship, press releases, media activations, partnership support and social media strategy and execution.

The Director, Brand Management and Marketing Communications is expected to:

Strategy

  • Support the Vice President of Marketing in building and executing global brand strategies that will generate revenue growth and meet business objectives
  • Drive purchase consideration among designers and other target customers across all marketing programs and materials through education on Pantone’s value proposition in color management
  • Develop programming and assets that will support Pantone’s dealer network and direct sales team
  • Elevate and standardize the brand’s aesthetic and voice across all channels

Project and Process Management

  • Lead all global brand communications efforts, create definitive global brand strategy and provide deployment kits to regional commercial teams and their channel partners
  • Lead the development of integrated marketing campaigns across public relations, social media, creative development, partnership marketing, channel distribution and tradeshows
  • Example projects include developing brand style guidelines, leading the launch strategy for new products, and Color of the Year
  • Set and manage project timelines and action plans to execute programs on-time
  • Responsible for media relations and contacts

People Management

  • Able to lead a cross-functional, matrixed team and strive for collaboration, structure, and process
  • Develop direct reports through development plans and steady cadence of 1:1 meetings
  • Lead weekly staff meeting to ensure project deadlines are met and resources are addressed in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Sales, E-Com and Web, Licensing, and the Pantone Color Institute teams

Metrics & Measurement

  • Measure, track, and optimize all communications programs to drive stronger revenue growth and continuous improvement within the organization
  • Lead the implementation of Danaher Business System (DBS) tools to track, reports results, and optimize performance across marketing initiatives
  • Present to the leadership team at Pantone and Danaher, as required

Education and Experience Required

  • 5+ years of brand management and marketing experience in roles with advancing responsibility
  • 3+ years of experience in design related industries and B2B companies
  • Subject matter expertise in color management and trends in graphic arts, fashion and home interiors, and product design, a plus
  • Experience connecting business strategy and communication strategy
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal
  • Strong presentation skills - creative concepts and ideas
  • Must also possess strong leadership skills, the ability to effectively manage conflict and problem solve in a highly-collaborative environment
  • Comfortable working in a results-driven, revenue focused, metrics-based organization
  • Ability to balance multiple projects, priorities and deadlines
  • Driven, analytical nature, with entrepreneurial spirit that excels in lean organizations
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel)
